Mission Statement
Our mission is to lessen the exposure of the city to the consequences
of fire, medical, and environmental emergencies through prevention,
planning, and response.
Our vision is one
of a complete emergency services organization dedicated to
professionalism, teamwork, and excellence.
The citizens of the cities of Ferndale and Pleasant Ridge and the
Charter Township of Royal Oak are valued as customers for the services
we provide to them. They deserve our best effort every time we respond
to their emergencies. They are to be treated with dignity and
professionalism at all times.
We believe that the Ferndale Fire Department has a role in all
programs that impact the safety of our citizens, visitors, property, and
environment. It is our responsibility to constantly improve existing
programs and to look for additional means to lessen the loss of life and
property within our jurisdiction.
The Ferndale Fire Department values its employees as its most
important resource. Their involvement in decisions that affect the
organization is the best way to assure continued progress.
We believe that prevention efforts through public education, code
development and enforcement, community planning, and investigation is
the best way to reduce the impact of fire, medical, and environmental
emergencies.

gifts for area families. Monetary donations are most appreciated. With
your donation, the Ferndale Goodfellows are able to purchase large
quantities at a substantial discount. We also encourage our residents to
volunteer their time to help the Goodfellows. Call Fire Headquarters to
learn how you can volunteer.
